Luigi Calatroni founded the estate in 1964 by buying the vineyard he had worked as a sharecropper.

Fausto and Marisa Calatroni built it up, and from 2002 the focus shifted strongly to Pinot Nero and classic-method sparkling.

The third generation, brothers Cristian and Stefano Calatroni, runs the estate today, with Metodo Classico output around 100,000 bottles.
