History

Agricola San Felice grew from farms in Castelnuovo Berardenga bought by an insurance company in 1968; the winery itself dates its birth to 1978, under RAS ownership. Its roots as an estate reach far back, with the San Felice hamlet documented over a thousand years ago.

Under oenologist Enzo Morganti the estate became a Chianti Classico pioneer: it created Vigorello, one of the first Tuscan wines made entirely from red grapes with Cabernet and Merlot, and in the 1970s introduced Poggio Rosso as an early example of a Chianti Classico 'cru'.

San Felice remains known for its research vineyard and for Sangiovese-based Chianti Classico alongside the Vigorello Super Tuscan.
